The Emptiness Now Gone

I’d lost one of my closest friends,

the empty hole, seemed too large to replace.

My life felt down,

my spirits were saddened.

Until that day I decided it was enough,

and discovered a world open to new people.

And then I met you,

you filled my heart’s emptiness and more.

Now I know that some losses were meant,

to allow greater rewards.

  1. It’s so heartbreaking to lose a friend, i have known that feeling, but that piece is joined by someone other who creates a space in your heart and complete that puzzle!

    1. Thank you so much I’m so glad you could relate.
And it’s so weird cuz your posts didn’t show up in my reader either. Posts that are published in a specific time period don’t show up, and ugh it’s so annoying- one of the bad things about WordPress. 😠 Lol sorry for my rage 😁

      1. Really??? It’s because of the publishing time period! It’s really annoying! Don’t be sorry about that. I have lost many of my bloggwr friends because of this!! 😈😈😈

  3. Its really hard to accept when a important person goes away from our life and we know they will never come back. But life goes on … Same we have to move on. Really heart wrenching poem!

      1. That’s absolutely fine…i guess personal satisfaction is important when comes to writing… Others praising our work … Works as a milestone for us. But i think the most important thing is the feeling… Which cannot be forced out until one is in that writing mood.

      2. You are welcome☺. Thats so sweet of you to say this as my kindness. Its true to manage everything at the same time becomes difficult.
It is such a pleasure to meet you.

  4. I’m sorry for your loss.

This is a really relatable poem. I’ve never experienced losing someone before and when I did, it just felt so surreal to me. I’ve never felt so empty before and knowing that I would never be able to see the people that I love again made me all the more regretful for not spending more time with them.

By the way, thank you for following my blog even though it isn’t much and my writing isn’t that great compared to others. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much! I’m so happy you could relate 😊.

What are you talking about? Your writing is beautiful. And also don’t compare yourself to others- everyone’s writing is amazing in their own unique way. I’m happy that I’ve come across your blog.

      1. Thank you for the compliment. I really appreciate it.

This is random, but I’m pretty new to wordpress and don’t know anyone here and I was wondering if you could help me if it’s no trouble at all. How do you make a pingback? I wanted to participate in the daily prompt post on wordpress and I’m not sure if I did it right or not but my post for the challenge didn’t show up on the daily prompt grid even after I waited for a while.

      2. Welcome!

Pingbacks happen when you put a link to something on one of your posts. Then that blog who’s article you linked it to will get a pingback.

As for the daily prompt post I personally don’t participate in those but when you write a post for the prompt, you put the link to the post in the comments of the daily prompt post. I think the reason why you didn’t see it is cuz you didn’t scroll down enough. The later you put your link, the further down your comment will be.
