The Rain

The rain was falling heavy.

She told him I loved him,

never did I want her to.

I ran away,

too scared to see what would happen.

Hair dripping, feet moving, breath coming out hard,

I ran away from what we could’ve been.

Wrote this about a boy I’ve liked for almost 2 years now. He’s a grade above me, so is she. Today she decided to tell him, I don’t know if I’ll forgive her. I probably will, for her intentions were never to hurt me.

  1. It is one of the most fearful moments in our lives – not knowing what that response will be. The anxiety really comes through your words, so much so, I could feel it. Great job!

  2. Well this brought back a bad memory… In any case lovely poem, though I can’t help but be curious as to how the end resulted from your friends actions. Because that one friend that can’t keep their mouth shut *internal rage*. I maybe way late in saying this but hopefully things worked out for the better. Even if it seemed like it didn’t in the moment.

    1. Ha thank you. Yeah sometimes I wish she could’ve never opened her mouth but things happen for a reason. She’s still my friend, maybe closer than ever. And I’d love if you could share your memory- you don’t have to, if you don’t want to.

      1. Sorry,I was tied with stuff. Well what happened is simple. I ended writing a poem for a girl I like. My friend took the poem from me for lulz. Last second I changed my mind on giving it to girl, so they took it and held it for ransom. At the end of day I hunted them down. When I found them I asked for it back only to look in horror to see the girl of interest was already reading it. I felt pale.. Needless to say I got out of there as fast as possible.. Fun Fact: I didn’t get the girl… HURRAYY!!!

    2. Even though I did walk away, and looked like a totally idiot ๐Ÿ˜, the girl in the poem is trying to make things right, which I really appreciate. I guess time will only tell what will happen, and Iโ€™ll be there to see it.

  3. Sometimes we need others to give us that little push. So she told him that you loved him, she gave you that little push that you needed to maybe end up with the guy you didn’t think you could have. Fear holds us back from a lot of amazing stuff. Truth be told though the majority of our fears are never realized.
