Holding On

I find that people can be all the characters in this poem. Either they destroy one’s feelings or help them heal- it’s up to you to decide who you want to be. I really hope you all like this poem and  feel free to leave your comments/ thoughts below.

Your words-

so hurtful and mean.

They surround me in a hurricane

of words I can’t escape.

My mind constantly

fills up with them-

only more power to you.

They drop me in the deepest ocean,

and leave me to drown.

Soon, all that’s left to

breathe are your words.

I’m going down,

so low, only my feelings can relate.

I only pray to make it up to the surface.

Then His hands- so strong and powerful,

carry me back to the surface.

I cry into His protective arms,

while He tells me,

“Everything will be okay.”
